My adventure over the weekend

So I actually had a full weekend off this week and decided it was time to do some well neglected chores during that time. The two things I chose were cleaning out/washing my car and cleaning my room. My car was cleaned out washed and vacuumed out in no time. My room on the other hand is an on going project. I have washed my laundry, picked everything up, and now I'm on to straightening/organizing things. Then I will have to vacuum my room and clean the carpet thanks to my stinkin dog. Then of course there is cleaning out my guinea pig cash and my fish tank. Then last but not least washing my bedding and remaking my bed. Every time I clean my room ever since I was little it has always taken forever. My mom would tell me to clean my room so I would start on it and she would come in like an hour later and wonder what in the world happened to my room. Every time I cleaned my room as a kid it meant dumping out everything in my dresser and reorganizing it, being that as a child you just stuff things in drawers and in order for something to be clean it should be organized neatly. Then off course all toy bins would be emptied as well. As I child I was always rearranging my room too just to see if things would fit somewhere else to make more room for playing with toys later. I don’t know what it is when it comes to cleaning but I like to start from scratch I guess. While cleaning my room this time around I found several items I had been wondering where they were. Isn’t always interesting what you find when you clean things?

Found items:

A dollar bill

My retainers(they’ve been missing for months started to think they were gone for good)

An old camera

The charger to my camera

My favorite key (I collect keys I have no clue why, I think it could be from watching that movie “The Indian in the Cupboard” as a kid)

Aw the wonderful life of being a kid....

Today a kid asked me if the car I was about to get into was mine. I replied "yes". Then the kid goes on to ask if I have a license and once again of course my answer was "yes". Then the mother called her child away. It got me to thinking about my childhood though. Remember the days you dreamed of having your own car? What career you would go into? The house you would some day own? Having a family of your own? All these things you had figured out because then the world just seemed so simple. Yet the older and older you got the more and more you began to question what you had originally thought you would do with the rest of your life. Was it truly because life was so simple or was it because we were so naive at that point in our lives that we thought all would turn out as we planned it would? All the different stages in out lives are so interesting, even if while going through some stages in our life they seem to be more dreadful than interesting. Later on in life when you look back at what you thought was a dreadful stage it will appear to be interesting, I promise. It is always interesting to look back at certain points of your life and see just how many things you have learned over time.

Spark Of Genius

So yesterday night while I was suffering from boredom as usual. I got into one of my writing moods. Which tend to only come around very seldom and a wrote a quote about life that I figured I would go ahead and share with you.

"Life is complex, exciting, dreadful, depressing, tough, amazing. Just remember it is what you make of it. Keep your head held high and reach for your dreams and never give up. Others will discourage you drag you down but you must not let them. Stand strong, build friendships with optimistic people who will lift you up when you are down in the dumps. Life is too short to be depressed, feel like a failure, or like giving up on everything. When it feels like your whole world around is crumpling all you have are your family and friends. So make sure you pick the friends that will bring out the best in you. As for family keep close to them and don't let the little things pull you apart from each other." ~Erin Blake

The end is soon approaching...

So I recently made a deal with my sister that if she posted a blog I would. Needless to say that is why this blog exists. Got to admit next time I make a deal I need to be more specific. Since when can a Hanson concert count as a blog? Especially when it is about an event that happened weeks ago? Lol jk!

On to fun and exciting news:

Gradation will soon be here. The date is December 16th, 2009. However that is still the not the exiting/scariest thing....I will be giving a speech at the graduation. There are expected to be 80 graduates from my school and approximately 250 people total. The cap and gown have been ordered, the diploma fee paid, and the speech submitted (just awaiting final approval from the director). Only things left to do is finish my classes and make sure my AIMS test results are sent over to my current school. I am almost FREE atlas from the education world! Yay!!!

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

Picture from amazon.com

This book will leave you in utter shock. It was on a list of books to do a book report on in my English class. I'm still unsure how this one passed as a good book for high school students to read. If you ask me it is a horrific book. I'm still in shock over what is in this book. I am still awaiting my memory to completely block out everything that takes place in this book. However I am glad I only read the Sparknotes to this book. Any of you out there that find it puzzling that such a book could leave one in shock should pick up this book and read it. Just reading the back of it could probably leave you in amazement. I would tell you about some things that you will find in this book however I wouldn't want to ruin the book for any of you out there that are now possibly thinking about reading this book. Just out of curiosity have any of you read this book before? If so what were your thoughts on it?
